State Championship of Academics

On March 22, 2018, the Pee Dee Education Center hosted the 5th Annual State Championship of Academics at Francis Marion University. Students from all over the state came down to compete in the tournament.

For Division One Middle Schools, Williams Middle School defeated Plesant Knoll Middle School.

For Division Two Middle Schools, Mid-Carolina defeated Latta Middle School.

For Division One High Schools, Spring Valley High School defeated Wilson High School.

For Division Two High Schools Latta High School Defeated Indian Land High School.

Pee Dee Regional Academic Challenge Tournament

On February 17th and  March 3rd, The Pee Dee Education Center hosted its annual Academic Challenge Tournament. With 22 schools from 17 districts taking part in the event, it was necessary to split the schools into two divisions. Who was in which decision was decided on the basis of each school’s record in the regular six-week season.

In Divison One Middle Schools, Williams Middle School defeated Manning Junior High School.

In Division Two Middle Schools, Latta Middle School defeated Johnsonville Middle School.

In Division One High School, Wilson High School defeated Cheraw High School.

In Division Two High Schools, Latta High School defeated Dillion High School.
